The Lean approach is addressed in our Project Continuum of Concept and Design, Planning, Implementation and Transition. Each phase focuses on applying the correct tools, and producing tangible, value added outputs. Further each phase provides for continuous improvement by overlaying Plan-Do-Check-Act activities for use by our Project team. The following provides an overview of the PSGi Lean® approach.
Concept and Design: This phase ensures a common vision by all stakeholders involved in the business initiative. Depending on the nature of the project the outputs include objective analyses, attainable/sustainable strategies, prototypes, and the foundation for agreed implementation plans.
Planning: The planning phase provides for a structured and realistic approach to implement the specific solution(s). Master Schedule is created to visually depict the program deliverables already agreed to by all stakeholders. Further incorporated into the Master Schedule are the Plan-Do-Check-Act activities to ensure that the all efforts are as effective as possible. Escalation procedures are established and agreed upon along with project reporting to create a solid project governance framework. Finally, to ensure effective Project Management and progress of the Implementation phase, a Visual Management Centre will be established providing real time visual status of the Master Schedule, progress and deliverables.
Implementation: This phase focuses on addressing the needs outlined in the Concept and Design phase and indentified in the Planning phase. This implementation is based on achieving the desired outcome in conjunction with the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle to ensure effective creation, review and finalisation of deliverables. This Lean approach ensures time, budget, and performance are met and sets the stage for sustainable continuous improvement and ownership by our clients.
Transition: Most user enablement solutions end at ‘go-live’ of the original project. Client ownership is a key element of the PSGi Lean Methodologies. The Learning/Performance Framework that has been established throughout the project is fully transitioned to the client to ensure ongoing business ownership and support of the solution and provide for a continuous improvement culture. |
